Blue Arrow

Blue Arrow IV in flight twin tail

The Blue Arrow Demonstrator Program is a phased aerospace research and flight-test initiative intended to progressively mature technologies required for a future Canadian reusable horizontal takeoff and landing (HOTL) suborbital spacecraft. The program utilizes an incremental approach, beginning with hobby-scale and experimental demonstrators and advancing toward commercially viable reusable spaceflight systems.

Why Blue Arrow?

Canada possesses world-class aerospace expertise yet currently lacks an indigenous reusable spaceplane development program.

Blue Arrow aims to help fill that gap through disciplined engineering, incremental testing, and collaboration with industry, academia, government, and the aerospace community.

A reusable suborbital spaceplane provides affordable, aircraft-like access to the edge of space for research, technology testing, education, and commercial payloads. By taking off and landing on a runway and being reused between flights, it has the potential to reduce costs, increase flight frequency, and help advance the technologies needed for future space transportation systems.
